Chairs Painting
Bo's Place has asked KVPAC (Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center)
to find 12 artists to paint unfinished rocking chairs. You are not
expected to seal them - KVPAC will do that for you. If you are
interested please reply and send
Kathleen Haymes

a website or some means of seeing your art digitally. As you can see
once we said yes, Bo's Place is rockin' as they are delivering
chairs THIS Friday! Any theme, pallet or ideas are welcome. The
chairs will be auctioned to benefit Bo's Place, "where children are
heard and hearts are healed" a non-profit organization providing
grief counseling to children who have lost a parent.
The chairs will be ready for
pick up at KVPAC on Friday, Oct 6 after 3pm and need to returned to
KVPAC on January 5, 2007. The chairs are to be returned unsealed.
After Friday, the chairs will be moved off-site so we will have

Wet & Wild Watercolors
Explore all the fun and none of the muss with abstract watercolors.?
If you are a realist just imagine the background possibilities that
exist.? The focus on the workshop will be color and texture using
watercolors in a concentrated form? Learn the fun of working on
canvas by getting some tips to working on this slippery surface. You
will have many starts to great paintings completed on the first day
and on the second you will pick a few of these starts to work on and
bring to completion.

Christmas Art Show
The Madison County Arts Council is planning its second Christmas
Art Show and Sale to be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the
Kimbro Center in Madisonville. The council wants to provide an
opportunity for artists to show and sell their work. Artists are
encouraged to include items in a variety of price ranges including
lower priced items, i.e., note cards, small paintings, and prints.
We will provide each artist
a 10 x 10 booth with 6 tables. Booths around the perimeter of the
room will have a wall display area 10 x 3 for hanging art. All
other equipment will need to be provided by the artist. Additional
booths will be placed down the middle of the room for art that does
not require wall space. This event will be complimented by an
advertising campaign beginning in the fall. See the attached flyer.
Please fill out the
bottom of the flyer to reserve your booth.
Artists, this is a great
opportunity to promote your work for free. There will not be any
booth fees or entry fees. The Arts Council will handle all sales and
collect a 20% commission. For more information, please contact
Janet Mock (936) 348-7695 or Gwen Hendricks.
